The 12U Machine Pitch Girls Softball League played on some sloppy fields over the past couple of weeks, getting in some games between rain and storms.
On June 2, the Dairy Queen Shakers faced off with the Four Seasons Boat Storage Sharks in a tough game.
For the Shakers, Justice Dawson and Stevee Webster each had one run. Webster had a double, while Dawson had two doubles.
Kennedy Agee, Leslie Hembree, and Savannah White each had one run for the Sharks, with Dasia Gurley, Joni Robinson, and Megan Walker each getting two. Lydia Brown had a double in the game, while Hembree had a triple. Robinson recorded a homerun.
The Sharks took the win, 9-2.
The Goldstar Avengers took on the J&S Construction Crushers that same day, with the Crushers crushing the competition.
For the Avengers, Savannah Hesson and Abby Walls each had one run, while Meaghan Nix had two. Hesson and Walls each had a double, while Nix had two doubles.
Kaitlin Cantrell, Katie Colwell, Maeloree Kirby, Madison Rackley, Johna Summers, Abbi Taylor, and Brooklyn Wilson each had one run for the Crushers, with Kaitlin Bain and Broklynn Estes each getting two. Summers had a double in the game.
The Crushers got the win, 11-4.
On June 9, the Dairy Queen Shakers battled the J&S Construction and Jimmy Sprague Crushers in a close game.
Jadyn Dawson and Stevee Webster each had one run for the Shakers, while Maddie Cook had two. Makayla Kirby had a double, while Dawson had a double and a triple.
Kaitlin Bain, Shelby Sprague, and Abbi Taylor each had a run for the Crushers, while Brooklyn Wilson scored two runs. Kaitlyn Cantrell and Wilson each had a double.
The Crushers inched by for the 5-4 victory.
That same day, Southland Fountain faced off with the Goldstar Building Care Avengers in another close game.
For Fountain, Zoey Baskin, Natalie Fountain, and Akira Wooden each had one run, while Makayla Key had two. Karleigh Crook had a double and a triple in the game, while Kay had two homeruns.
Jordan Bender and Meaghan Nix each had one run for the Avengers, while Savannah Hesson and Abby Walls each had two. Gracie Dungy had a triple in the game.
Fountain held on for the 6-5 win.
On June 12, the Crushers crushed Fountain in a big game.
For Fountain, Zoey Baskin scored the one and only run.
Kaitlyn Simmons and Johna Summers each had one run for the Crushers, while Kaitlyn Cantrell, and Abbi Taylor each had two. Kaitlin Bain and Brooklyn Wilson each had three runs. Bain and Maeloree Kirby each had a double, while Cantrell and Summers each had two doubles. Wilson had two triples.
The Crushers came away with the 12-1 victory.
