TSSAA releases proposed regional football alignments

The TSSAA released its proposal for regional football alignments last week, and will present the proposal at the Board of Control meeting in Murfreesboro on Thursday. If approved, DeKalb will see some familiar faces next season, with a couple of new opponents.

 

The proposal has the Tigers in Class 3A, Region 4, which would include Cannon County, Smith County, and Upperman, as well as Grundy County High School in Coalmont and Sequatchie County High School in Dunlap. Former district opponent York would move to Region 2.

 

Livingston would be Class 4A, Region 3, with Hixson and Stone Memorial, while Macon County joins Region 5, along with Pearl Cohn.

 

White County would be 5A, Region 4, which would also include Ooltewah, Rhea County, and Soddy-Daisy.

 

Border rival Warren County would be 6A, Region 2, which also includes Blackman, Coffee County, Central Manchester, Cookeville, Oakland, Riverdale, Siegel, and Smyrna.

 

The overall proposed alignments are as follows:
