Virtual Fiddler 5K in the Books

The 22nd Annual Fiddler 5k and One-Mile Fun Run is in the books this year despite some challenges faced by the Covid-19 pandemic. This year's event was run virtually, though some runners came out to run the regular course.

According to race organizers, 152 people participated in this year's run, some turning in their time through the website, while other opted to run the regular course on the traditional day of the event. Though only bragging rights were this year's awards, all participants received a commemorative cotton/poly t-shirt. The Fiddler 5K supports the Habitat for Humanity of DeKalb County, Tennessee, Inc.

This year's 5K winners are 15-year-old Matthew Sinclair of Carthage, TN, with a time of 20:26, while 59-year-old Mary Simmons of Big Rock, IL came in with a time of 27:47.
