WBT dominated play last week with wins over SLS and Love Cantrell.

by Chris Tramel

Senior League teams were playing ball last week, with some tough match ups.

On Tuesday, July 14, Love Cantrell met a hard team in Wilson Bank and Trust. The game would stay close in the early innings and be decided late in the game.

Wesley Kent, Cam Cabellero, Garrison Randolph, Alex Lemons, and Olie Brookshire, would each score for Love Cantrell at the top of the fourth, while Axel Aranda, Brayden Carter, Jacob Hendrix, Drew Dakas, Ty Panker, John Hendrix, and Carson Donnell each scored for WBT.

Action didn't pick back up until the bottom of the fourth inning, when Brayden Carter added another run for WBT.

Love Cantrell scored a run in the fifth inning, with Konner Young touching home, but it was not enough. WBT put the nail in the coffin at the end of the inning, with Dakas, Panker, and Hendrix each scoring another run. WBT took the 11-6 victory.

Jacob Hendrix was the winning pitcher, while Wesley Kent threw for Love Cantrell.

Later that evening, Southern Landscape Supply took on the Wilson Bank and Trust team.

Some good pitching by WBT's Grayson Carter kept SLS at bay for most of the game, while WBT's bats were hot. Axel Aranda, Ian Colwell, and Jacob Hendrix each came home with a run in the first inning, then Drew Dakas and Alex Lemons scored in the third.

SLS could never find the ball, and WBT sealed up the scoring in the fourth inning with another run by Hendrix. Time ran out for SLS and WBT took the 6-0 shutout.

Grayson Carter was the winning pitcher, pitching four innings before Ian Colwell took over. Carson Donnell pitched for SLS before Jackson Arnold took over in the third.
