No one is faster than the DeKalb Middle School Saints girls’ cross-country team , at least in their last four meets where they have brought home the gold.
The Lady Saints claimed their fourth consecutive cross-country win with a victory at the Ryan Burnett Invitational recently in Cookeville. The boys’ team was able to bring home a third place finish.
The first place finish came after the middle school squad had five runners in the top ten of the meet that saw 73 compete. The boys had four top 20 runners.

Boys: Kaleb Spears: 1st place 12:49, Caleb Gray: 7th 13:23, Ian Colwell: 8th 13:24, Cale Brown: 18th 14:19, Dylan Cathey: 21st 14:51, Carson Tramel: 38th 15:54, Evan Carmichael 47th 16:32, Sam Harris 50th 16:44, Ethan Spears: 54th 17:58, Jackson Hodges 59th: 18:20, Freddy Oberdier: 62nd 19:03, Mason Taylor: 71st 21:58.
The teams now look to the regionals at Knoxville this Saturday.
