Wilson Bank & Trust has contributed the first $10,000 to build a new indoor baseball facility at DeKalb County High School, and with support from other local businesses and individuals, the project could be completed in time for spring practice.
"We’re pleased to give players the chance to have a consistent training program, without wondering where they will be when weather is bad and other school facilities are occupied," said WB&T Regional President Clark Oakley.
An indoor practice facility is a need the baseball booster club has been hoping to address for several years, according to Tiger Baseball Booster President Jeff McMillen.
"We’re grateful to Wilson Bank & Trust for investing in our young people and making it possible to get this project off the ground," McMillen said.
Construction on the building has begun, and the boosters are seeking additional support to have it finished and ready for the team to use by January 1.
