Alexandria man loses life in crash

An Alexandria man lost his life in a Rutherford County traffic accident on Oct. 18.Joshua Maston Owens, 24 reportedly died after a one-vehicle crash just after 7 a.m. on East Clark Boulevard in Murfreesboro.According to a Murfreesboro Police Department news release, the Murfreesboro Police Department's Fatal Accident Crash Team investigated the accident, in which Owens vehicle apparently left the road near 1018 East Clark Boulevard and struck a tree.A Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department spokesperson said that rescue units responded to the scene, but extrication was not needed. Officials said it was not clear if a medical emergency caused the collision.Owens was a Comcast Cable Tech employee and a member of the Fort Apache Riders Club/Twisted Grip. Born in Ocala, Florida, he was affiliated with the New Vision Baptist Church and the West Main Baptist Church in Alexandria.The family has requested that donations be made to Anderson Funeral Home to help with expenses.
