Hines was arrested and brought to the jail for booking, and the two passengers in Hines' vehicle, 39-year-old Johnny Thomas Whited of Carthage and 44-year-old Tammy Denise Lamb of Lafayette, were each charged with public intoxication.
According to the sheriff, both Whited and Lamb were highly intoxicated. Their speech was slurred and they were unsteady on their feet. Both had a strong odor of alcohol on them. For their safety and that of the public, both Whited and Lamb were arrested.
