The sheriff’s department arrested a Hawkins Drive woman last week, allegedly confiscating 135 Dilaudid pills and $1,394 in cash from her travel-trailer home.
According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, Tommye Lou Bell, 52, was “one of the top Dilaudid drug dealers in the county.”
Bell faces charges of possession of a Schedule II drug (Dilaudid) for sale and delivery.
Ray said that sheriff's department drug detectives had been watching Bell’s home for some time, and gathered enough evidence to execute a search warrant Thursday night.
“She is a well known drug dealer,” Ray said. “Bell is considered one of the top Dilaudid drug dealers in the county,” Ray said. “Through our surveillance, we observed well known drug addicts coming and going from her home, staying only a short time. Through our lengthy investigation, we were able to do undercover drug buys at Bell's home.”
The sheriff said that his department plans to seize the woman’s trailer as well.
“While executing the search warrant Thursday night, we found that Bell had a bottle on her person containing 130 Dilaudid pills,” Ray said. “We also found a small container in a living room chair that contained five Dilaudid pills. Along with the 135 Dilaudid pills, we were able to seize $1,394 in cash. We are in the process of checking with the state to seize her residence, which is a travel trailer,” Ray shared.
Ray said with the price of Dilaudid pills varying from $40-60 each on the street, the bust netted drugs with a value between $5,400 and $8,100.
Bell’s bond was set at $20,000, and she will appear in court on Dec. 12.
Meanwhile, Kellyie Dahn Wilkey, 19, was charged with filing a false report after allegedly telling authorities that her boyfriend had raped her.
Ray said Wilkey filed a report on Nov. 16, claiming that she had been raped by her boyfriend. An investigation reportedly determined that Wilkey had lied about the rape.
After being interviewed by detectives, Wilkey allegedly admitted that she had fabricated the story because she was mad at her boyfriend. She was arrested on Dec. 3.
Her bond was set at $2,500, and she will appear in court on Dec. 19.
Demelza Jane Frances Grisham, 27, of Carthage was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary and theft of property over $500 on Dec. 7.
Ray said that on Monday, Nov. 18 Grisham broke into a New Hope Road residence in Alexandria and stole a Hewett Packard Laptop computer, $300 in change and a book of checks, all valued at under $500.
The case was investigated by a criminal detective of the Sheriff's Department.
Her bonds total $15,000, and she will appear in court on Dec. 12.
Jessica Renee Bogle, 28, was charged with evading arrest and violation of probation on Dec. 6.
The Sheriff said a deputy went to Bogle’s Holmes Creek Road Home on Nov. 25 to serve a violation of probation warrant on her. Bogle allegedly told the officer that she needed to change clothes, but went into a bedroom, then slipped out through another door.
Authorities reportedly located her on Dec. 6.
Her bond on the evading arrest charge was set at $2,500, and she is being held without bond on the violation of probation charge. She will appear in court on Dec. 12 for evading arrest and Jan. 22 for violation of probation.
Reba Leach, 22, was charged with domestic assault on Dec. 3.
Ray said a deputy dispatched to Highland Drive to check out a domestic assault report spoke with the victim, who said that she and a man were arguing when Leach, the man’s girlfriend pushed her and punched her. The two allegedly ended up on the ground, fighting.
The victim reportedly had a large knot on the back of her head, and Leach had a small cut under her left eye. Leach admitted to pushing the victim and punching her, and was determined to be the primary aggressor.
Her bond was set at $1,500, and she will appear in court on Dec. 12.
Jeffrey L. White, 43, was arrested on Dec. 7 for a fifth offense of driving on a revoked license, and cited for a light law violation.
He was also served with a sealed indictment returned by the grand jury on January 30, 2012 for promotion of methamphetamine.
Ray said a deputy who spotted a white truck traveling on North Congress Boulevard with a headlight out stopped the truck and spoke with the driver, who proved to be White.
A check revealed White's drivers license was revoked for DUI, and that he had four prior driving on revoked offenses. His bond was set at $20,000 and he will be arraigned on Jan. 22.
