A program will be held at the DeKalb County Complex on May 1 at noon in observance of the National Day of Prayer, an annual event held on the first Thursday of May. Country music star John Anderson will provide music while people of all faiths to pray for the nation.The event is expected to last for about an hour, and local ministers, community leaders and state lawmakers will speak. Everyone is invited to attend, and admission is free.The United States Congress created National Day of Prayer by a joint resolution in 1952, and President Harry S. Truman signed it into law.
