The Smithville city council voted to adopt an ordinance to annex several properties on the west end of the city on second and final reading Monday night.The properties of Ed Young, Mike Foster, Dr. David Foutch, Pat Walls, John Kilgore, and Jim Beshearse, as well as the right of way of Old Snow Hill Road and part of Highway 70 will be annexed into the city within 30 days.Three of the properties were zoned in the R-1 Residential Zone, while the remaining parcels, including Kilgore's Restaurant, Foutch's Eye Care, the former Beshearse Grocery store, and Young's property were zoned in the B-2 General Business District.No one spoke in opposition of the measure at a public hearing.
