Baxter man arrested for theft

The sheriff’s department arrested a 60-year-old Baxter man on Oct. 29 and charged him with breaking into a storage building and stealing a riding lawn mower in the Silver Point community.William David Arendall was charged with burglary and theft of property over $1,000 after a criminal detective of the sheriff's department investigated the case.According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, Arendall broke into an outbuilding on Lafever Ridge Road in the Silver Point community on Oct. 8.He allegedly stole a mower with a value of approximately $1,600.Arendall’s bond is set at $30,000 and he will appear in court on Nov. 15.Meanwhile, Christopher Allen Richardson, 42, was charged with domestic assault and vandalism under $500 on Nov. 4.Ray said that Richardson assaulted a family member at a residence on Sparta Highway, allegedly breaking a window at the home in the process. Richardson is accused of holding the victim down by the hair and strangling her before following her to a neighbor’s house and threatening to kill everyone there.Ray said that the woman escaped her attacker’s grasp and ran to a nea by home during the alleged assault.Richardson reportedly followed the victim to the neighbor's residence and threatened to kill everyone there.The victim allegedly had red marks on her chest and throat area, and a cut on one of her ears. Richardson was arrested and taken to the jail for booking.His bond is set at $7,500 and he will appear in court on Nov. 29.A window was reportedly broken in the melee, causing less than $500 in damage.
