Become an American Red Cross Volunteer

The DeKalb County Fire Department and the American Red Cross will be hosting a Disaster Intro Class Jan. 19 at  6 p.m. at the DeKalb County Fire Department, 782 King Ridge Road, for those interested in becoming a Red Cross volunteer.
The purpose is to provide information and ways new volunteers and groups can help their community prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies and disasters.
If there is a church, church group, or civic organization interested, please come.
Information on how you can provide shelter during a time of need will be provided.
Volunteers make up 97 percent of the American Red Cross and for there to be a presence there must be local people willing to be there for their neighbors.
Knowing each day we are preparing for a safer tomorrow and being able to give comfort and support during an unexpected tragic time in someone's life makes the world seem a better place to live.
Being able to work with others sharing this is also my passion.  Together we can form a team and provide needs such as shelter, food, emotional support, clean-up supplies and comfort items for the goodwill of DeKalb and all the surrounding counties during a disaster.
Your time is all that is needed.
