Commissioners at DeKalb Utility District (DUD) opened bids on the planned water treatment plant project Thursday. A Total of 11 companies placed bids on three different projects, including construction of the new plant, the raw water intake for the facility, and transmission lines for the treated water. The utility's engineering firm is reviewing the bids, and will meet with the DUD board at the next regular monthly on Oct.2 at 3 p.m. to offer suggestions as to how to procced.
