A Wednesday morning motorcycle crash sent a 71-year-old Watertown man to the hospital last week. According to Captain Steven Leffew of the Smithville Police Department, William Taylor was injured when his motorcycle rear ended a pickup truck in front of the Bridgeway Motel in Smithville. Taylor was traveling east on Broad Street on a Honda Goldwing motorcycle when he collided with the rear a 2010 Toyota Tacoma driven by Michael Auffinger, 33, of Liberty, who was not injured. Taylor apparently crashed into the tailgate of the Toyota when Auffinger stopped to turn into the parking lot of Patty’s Restaurant.
