A Smithville man was injured Friday afternoon in a motorcycle accident in front of DeKalb Community Bank on West Broad Street.Smithville Police Officer Matt Farmer reports that Jarrett Manning, 27, was riding a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle and traveling west on Broad Street when a Ford F350, driven by 56-year-old Kirt Martin pulled onto the highway from the bank parking lot attempting to go east.According to Farmer, Manning said that he saw the truck and braked to try and avoid a collision. He was apparently thrown from the bike before it slid into the front of the truck.Manning physically struck the truck as well before coming to a stop in the street. He was transported to DeKalb Community Hospital by DeKalb EMS. His pelvis was reportedly fractured in two places, and he also suffered a broken leg.Martin was apparently not injured.
