Phillip and Peggy Stewart hosted their annual biker’s Toy for Tots drive last Saturday in the parking lot at Stewart’s Auto Grooming.
The yearly charity event saw 70 bikes registered for the bike show and ride afterward.
Food was served and a live band entertained the crowd.
According to co-organizer Peggy Stewart, the program went smoothly, and the sunny weather agreed with the proceedings.
Nearly $2,000 was raised for DeKalb County Foster Care, and the tree was loaded with gifts by the end of the day.
“It was a wonderful day, the weather and the people were just perfect,” Stewart told the Review.
“We raised $1,157 for the foster children, we collected a lot of gifts. We all had a great time and helped the kids out, too,” she added.
James Hale won the Best of Show trophy in the bike exhibition with his big red Harley.
Randy Caplinger took Best Harley with his custom-painted cruiser, and Roy Tramel went home with Best Metric Bike honors.
Anthony Johnson’s custom-built beast won the Best Trike Award, and Phillip Stewart won Best Vintage Bike with his 1971 Harley-Davidson FLH.
