City police have arrested a 32-year-old local man and charged him with beating a female with a belt.
Steven Bly was charged after police were dispatched to check out reports of a domestic assault. An investigation reportedly determined that Bly had struck the victim on or about the area of her left side near her ribs and stomach area with a belt. Injuries were visible and consistent with the use of a belt.
His bond was set at $2,500, and he will appear in court on May 12.
Stephanie Bequette, 25, was cited for simple possession of Schedule VI drug on April 8.
While investigating a possible DUI, officers reportedly found four partially smoked marijuana cigarettes in her vehicle after receiving consent to search.
She will appear in court on April 21.
Autumn Danielle White, 41, was arrested for driving while revoked and cited for speeding, failing to stop at a stop sign, and open container on April 10.
Police reportedly initiated a traffic stop and made contact with White. While speaking with White, police observed an open container of Smirnoff in the front seat. A computer check revealed that White's driver license was revoked.
Her bond was set at $ 1,500, and she will appear in court on April 21.
Wendy Strahan, 41, was arrested for public intoxication on April 11.
Police were called to East Side Inn for a possible domestic, and upon arrival were informed that it was a verbal argument only. Further investigation revealed that Strahan had been drinking, and was causing an annoyance to the surrounding tenants.
Her bond was set at $ 1,500, and she will appear in court on May 21.
Ashley Jerome Ferrell, 33, and 22-year-old Katelyn Luann Goodwin were cited for shoplifting at Wal-Mart on April 20.
Police were reportedly contacted when Goodwin was observed taking a Zippo lighter from the store. A search allegedly revealed a Dremel tool belonging to Wal-Mart on Ferrell’s person.
Both will appear in court on May 26.
