Boyd to moderate forum on health care act

Oscar Boyd will moderate an open public forum to help inform and educate the public about the Federal Affordable Healthcare Act on Sept. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the DeKalb County Community Complex Auditorium at 712 South Congress Boulevard, Smithville.Boyd said many public officials, including Sen. Mae Beavers; Rep. Terri Lynn Weaver; Sue Conley, CEO of DeKalb Community Hospital; and representatives of the Tennessee Department of Treasury, Bureau of TennCare, and the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development are set to attend the meeting to answer questions.Boyd said everyone is invited, and that the new law will affect individuals and business owners alike.“The forum is intended to educate the public on what is going on with the Affordable Healthcare Act,” Boyd told the Review. “Officials will answer questions about the new health insurance exchanges, the regulations that accompany all the changes and new IRS regulations concerning the law.Boyd said that everyone is encouraged to attend, and that the meeting will not end until all questions have been answered.
