An employee of a local boy’s home is in hot water after he was allegedly caught allowing three juveniles in his charge use illegal drugs.
John Schuylar Allen, 24 was arrested on May 27, and faces three charges of reckless endangerment and three charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, Allen, then an employee of New Frontiers boys home, took the three boys to a location that had not been approved the director of the home before embarking on an approved activity, and allowed them to use illegal drugs.
His six warrants accuse that he recklessly engaged in conduct that placed the three juveniles in immediate danger by taking them to the unauthorized location and allowing them to engage in illegal drug use while under his protection and supervision.
Allen’s bonds total $ 15,000, and he will appear in court on June 30.
Meanwhile, Cody Lee Crips, 30, was arrested for criminal impersonation on May 27.
The sheriff said a deputy attempting to serve four violation of probation warrants and a failure to appear warrant on Crips found him at a West Main Street home. When asked his name, Crips allegedly told the officer that he was Cody Haynes, and gave a false date of birth and Social Security number.
He was brought to the jail, where he reportedly admitted that he had lied. His bond was set at $2,500 on the impersonation charges, but he is being held without bond on four of the outstanding warrants.
Crips father, 63-year-old Melvin Leon Crips was arrested in the same incident for filing a false report after he also allegedly gave a false name when asked to identify Cody Crips.
His bond was set at $4,500, and he will appear in court on June 16.
40 Gregory Michael Patton, 40, was arrested for public intoxication and resisting stop, frisk, halt and arrest on May 25.
Ray said a deputy stopped Patton’s while he was walking on East Main Street in Smithville after an off-duty detective informed him that Patton might have been involved in a drug exchange. The deputy said Patton was obnoxious, uncooperative, and unsteady on his feet.
He reportedly told the deputy that he did not have anything and had not done anything, and began walking away. The sheriff said the deputy advised Patton to stop walking away several times, and he finally had to be taken into custody by force and placed under arrest.
He was cited for simple possession when a search reportedly revealed three needles, one loaded with morphine. Patton allegedly admitted to having just shot morphine.
His bond was set at $4,000, and he will appear in court on June 23.
Robert Anthony Fuston, 48, was arrested for DUI on May 29, and cited for driving on the right side of the roadway and violation of implied consent law.
Ray said deputy on routine patrol on Jefferson Road saw a vehicle leave its lane of travel, and upon stopping the car and speaking to the driver, Fuston, the deputy allegedly noticed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver, and that his eyes were bloodshot. Fuston was reportedly asked to perform several field sobriety tasks, on which he performed poorly.
His bond was set at $1,500, and he will appear in court on June 23.
