After being in business for over fifty years, Smithville Builders Supply will close its doors by the end of August.
Current owner Charlie Parker told the Review that the business was started in 1958 by John Bill Evins.
Parker’s father, Buddy, bought into the business in 1960, and it has been a part of the family since then.
“My father got into the business just before I was born,” Parker said. “I basically grew up here. You might say this place was my babysitter. I have a lot of good memories, and I have made a lot of friends through the years.”
Parker bought Evins’ part of the business in 1987.
“We appreciate all the support through the years, Parker concluded. “The people of Smithville are what kept us going this long.
