Tennessee House Joint Resolution 209 A RESOLUTION to honor and recognize Britney Campbell, 2011 Valedictorian of DeKalb County High School.WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to pay tribute to those students who, through their natural talents and unflagging commitment to academic excellence, have distinguished themselves in the classroom; and WHEREAS, Britney Campbell is one such exceptional student who was recently named Valedictorian of the 2011 graduating class at DeKalb County High School; and WHEREAS, through diligent study, steady composure during examinations, and steadfast commitment of time and talent, Ms. Campbell has achieved outstanding academic success and has joined the ranks of the best and brightest students in Tennessee and our country; and WHEREAS, in her remarkable high school career, Britney has earned an exemplary grade point average while participating in several worthwhile extracurricular activities, including the DeKalb County High School Fighting Tiger Band, National Beta Club, Literature Club and Spanish Club; andWHEREAS, she has distinguished herself as a leader among her peers through dedicated community service, including over 40 hours of volunteer work spent fundraising for the DeKalb County High School Fighting Tiger Band; and WHEREAS, Ms. Campbell exhibits true musical capability as an astute clarinetist, and she is currently studying piano; andWHEREAS, Britney’s noteworthy achievement is a tremendous source of pride for her parents, Michael Campbell and Kimberly Cox, her school, and her community; and WHEREAS, her dedication to excellence is clearly deserving of the respect, admiration, and commendation of this legislative body; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE CONCURRING, that we hereby commend and honor 2011 DeKalb County High School Valedictorian, Britney Campbell, on her impressive academic achievement and extend to her our best wishes for a happy, successful future. WHEREAS, it is fitting that the members of this General Assembly should pause to pay tribute to those students who, through their natural talents and unflagging commitment to academic excellence, have distinguished themselves in the classroom; and WHEREAS, Martha Alan Webb is one such exceptional student who was recently named Salutatorian of the 2011 graduating class at DeKalb County High School; and WHEREAS, through diligent study, steady composure during examinations, and steadfast commitment of time and talent, Miss Webb has achieved outstanding academic success and has joined the ranks of the best and brightest students in Tennessee and our country; and WHEREAS, in her remarkable high school career, Martha has earned an exemplary grade point average while participating in several worthwhile extracurricular activities, including Student Council, Future Business Leaders of America, Health Occupational Students of America, Spanish Club, Literature Club, Science Club, and Beta Club; and WHEREAS, Martha Webb's estimable leadership skills have enabled her to participate in 4-H Congress, Volunteer Girls State, and the Rotary Youth Leadership Assembly Conference; and WHEREAS, strongly committed to community and public service, she had endeavored to serve her fellow citizens by completing numerous service projects as a member of the Girl Scouts and 4-H; and WHEREAS, this remarkable young woman is a valuable member of her school's varsity softball and basketball teams, displaying her athletic ability by scoring over 1,000 points in her basketball career; and WHEREAS, a talented and gifted musician, Miss Webb enjoys singing and playing the piano; and WHEREAS, no stranger to accolades, Martha Webb has been named “Miss DCHS” at DeKalb County High School; and WHEREAS, Martha’s noteworthy achievement is a tremendous source of pride for her parents, Alan and Lora Webb, her school, and her community; and WHEREAS, her dedication to excellence is clearly deserving of the respect, admiration, and commendation of this legislative body; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE, THE SENATE CONCURRING, that we hereby commend and honor 2011 DeKalb County High School Salutatorian, Martha Alan Webb, on her impressive academic achievement and extend to her our best wishes for a happy, successful future.
