Five candidates will seek three available seats in the race for Smithville alderman on Aug. 4. Five candidates have qualified for the race in which three aldermen will be elected, each to serve a four year term. Incumbents Shawn Jacobs, Josh Miller, and Danny Washer are running for re-election to a four-year term, while Ronald Dale Stanley and Richard Steinbach will run for the first time.
