Five candidates will seek three available seats in the race for Smithville alderman on Aug. 4.

 

Five candidates have qualified for the race in which three aldermen will be elected, each to serve a four year term. Incumbents Shawn Jacobs, Josh Miller, and Danny Washer are running for re-election to a four-year term, while Ronald Dale Stanley and Richard Steinbach will run for the first time.

 

Dowelltown voters will cast ballots for a mayor and an alderman on Aug. 4. Only two candidates qualified for the Dowelltown election, in which the mayor and two aldermanic seats were up for election.

 

Pam Redmon qualified to run for a four-year term as mayor, and William A. Davis qualified for a four-year term as alderman. A second alderman’s seat is open, but no candidate came forth.

 

In the Liberty election, Dwayne Blair, Todd Dodd, and Jason Ray have qualified to seek four-year aldermen’s terms. J.D. Bratten will run to fill a one-year unexpired term. All are unopposed.
