William Cantrell, 46, was cited for two counts of simple possession after this crash on Smith Road Sunday. According to city police, Cantrell was traveling west when his 2002 Chevrolet Blazer left the roadway and struck a tree, causing the vehicle to overturn, coming to rest on its passenger side in the opposing lane of travel. He was apparently unhurt in the accident, but was charged with two counts of simple possession when officers allegedly found two plastic baggies at the scene, one containing several purple oval pills believed to be Xanax, and one containing a small amount of a green, leafy substance believed to be marijuana.
