Charges are pending against a local woman after a Monday night crash on Short mountain Highway. According to Sergeant Eric McCormick of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Rhonda Goff, 30, was traveling south, negotiating a curve, when her 2004 Mercury Sable (right) crossed into the path of a northbound 1999 International tractor-trailer (above) driven by 59-year-old Christian Wanner of Woodbury. The vehicles made contact despite Wanner’s attempt to avoid the collision, which caused the truck to overturn in a ditch.
