Charges are pending against a local woman after a Monday night crash on Short mountain Highway. According to Sergeant Eric McCormick of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Rhonda Goff, 30, was traveling south, negotiating a curve, when her 2004 Mercury Sable (right) crossed into the path of a northbound 1999 International tractor-trailer (above) driven by 59-year-old Christian Wanner of Woodbury. The vehicles made contact despite Wanner’s attempt to avoid the collision, which caused the truck to overturn in a ditch. Goff’s vehicle came to rest in a ditchline facing north. Neither Wanner nor his passenger, wife Regina Wanner, also 59, were seriously injured.Goff was transported to DeKalb Community Hospital by DeKalb EMS. The sergeant said charges are pending against Goff, and that alcohol was a factor in the incident.
