Chili supper raises $1,000 for Relay for Life

Relay for Life raised more than $1,000 for cancer research with a chili supper Thursday night. The DeKalb County Relay For Life recently raised over $1,000 for the American Cancer Society with a chili and soup supper/cake walk/silent auction fund raiser at the county complex.The event featured many prizes for the cake walk and silent auction items.The band 61 Seconds played during the entire event, even providing music for the cake walk.DeKalb County’s annual RFL event will be held on May 10 at Greenbrook Park for the 100th birthday of the American Cancer Society.Each team’s campsite will be decorated with a birthday theme.The team campsites will be selling food and other items, and there will be entertainment.A Children’s Parade will be held for the first time. Any child 10 and under can decorate a tricycle, small bike, wagon, small motorized vehicles, etc. All items are to be decorated in purple. This event is free, and there will be a prize for the best decorated.Please mark your calendars for the event, come to the park and have a lot of fun and help raise money for a great cause.
