Sentences were handed down recently by judges David Patterson and Gary McKenzie in DeKalb County Circuit Court.
Included in court action:

William Travis Malone was sentenced to eight years in prison for possession of a schedule II controlled substance over 0.5 grams.
Mark Goodson was directed to serve 120 days of a 10-year sentence with the balance to be served on probation for possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell. He must also make a $2,000 drug fine.

Johnny Devault was given a 12-year sentence for sale and delivery of a schedule III controlled substance (buprenorphine) but the sentence will be probationary upon his entering a long-term faith based alcohol and drug rehabilitation recovery program. He was also fined $2,000.
Daniel Dillard entered a plea to attempted aggravated arson and received a 10-year suspended sentence, all of which will be served on probation. He must also make restitution to the victim.

John Thomas Mason was ordered to serve two years for evading arrest. The term will be served concurrently with a 10-year sentence he is also serving.

Billy Eugene Cook entered a plea to theft over $1,000 and received a two-year sentence.

Melissa Poss Petty was given three years for vehicular assault but was furloughed into the Crossville Mission Bible Training Center.
Jonathan Wayne Hall was granted an 11-29 judicial diversion on two counts of simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance and must pay $750 plus costs and make $600 to the sheriff’s department.

Randy A. Caldwell was given an 11-29 probationary sentence for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jonathan Turner was issued a four-year probationary sentence for unlawful possession of a weapon.

James Matthew Maynard must serve 120 days of an 11-29 sentence and pay $1,100 for third-offense DUI.

Tyrone D. Owens was placed on probation for 12 years for possession and sale of a schedule II controlled substance. He must also pay $4,000.

Jamie Ashford was directed to serve 120 days of a 10-year sentence with the balance on probation for possession with intent to sell over 0.5 grams of methamphetamine. She was fined $2,000.

Zachary Jacob was given two 11-29 sentences on two counts of simple possession of marijuana. He was granted a judicial diversion and will be allowed to spend the terms on probation.

Christopher T. Pack entered a plea to two counts of simple possession of marijuana and received a sentence of 11 months and 29 days in each case to run consecutively for a total of almost two years suspended to probation. He was fined $750 and must make restitution of $1,200 to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department.

Jason Cripps entered ordered to serve 48 hours of an 11-29 sentence for theft and DUI and pay a fine of $350. He will also lose his license for one year.

Caleb Rigsby was given four years for aggravated burglary and theft over $1,000. He must make $900 restitution.

Jennifer Elizabeth Benton was placed on probation for an 11-29 period for reckless endangerment.

Randy A. Caldwell was given an 11-29 probationary sentence for possession of drug paraphernalia.

William Jeffery Hale was handed an 11-29 probationary sentence for reckless endangerment.

Christopher Derrick must serve 48 hours of an 11-29 sentence for DUI. He was fined $350 and will lose his license for one year. He must attend an alcohol safety class.

Thomas P. Courtney was ordered to serve 48 hours of an 11-29 sentence for DUI.

Jay Kent Williams was given an 11-29 probationary sentence for reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, and violation of the implied consent law. He will lose his driver’s license for one year.
