Cantrell arrested for calling 911 and making false report

Tavia Gayle Cantrell, 19, was arrested on Saturday, Oct. 28, for filing a false report.  According to the warrant, Cantrell did knowingly and intentionally call 911 and made an official report of hurting her ex-boyfriend and leaving him in a near death state. She reported to officers that he had attacked her and she assaulted him and that he was alive but not well. Investigation revealed that she had been at his residence earlier but that she had left of her own accord and without incident. Officers located and make contact with the alleged victim and he was found to be okay. Cantrell's actions tied up emergency resources and she did not make a truthful report to officers. Her bond is set at $6,000 with a court date of Nov. 16.

Tables turned on table theif

On Thursday, Nov. 2, Lillian HSU, 36, was cited for theft of property. On Wednesday, Nov. 1, HSU was at the Tractor Supply Company (TSC) where he proceeded to the cash register and informed the store associate that he needed to go to his vehicle and retrieve a gift card. On his way out the door he took a six-foot table and took it to his vehicle. Once he went back to the register, he informed the associate that he wanted to purchase a table along with the items he had. Once he had paid for his purchases, he made his way to his vehicle and on the way out took another table to his vehicle and left. The associate and store manager realized that he had taken another table without paying for it and went outside and took down his license plate number and filed a report with the police department. Upon investigation, the detective reviewed surveillance video and later cited HSU for theft of property His court date is Nov, 16 

No interlock device leads to scuffle and arrest

On Thursday, Nov. 2, Lonnie Lynn Wheeler, 41, was arrested for aggravated assault, vandalism, resisting arrest, and ignition interlock device. Police responded to Kwik N Ezy in reference to a male threatening someone with a knife. Upon arrival, the store employee informed the officer that the doors had been locked to close up and a male subject was wanting inside. 

The subject got upset when he was not allowed in and placed the employee in fear of her life as the subject displayed a knife out of his pocket and made a slashing motion across his throat then waving to the clerk bye. 

He then left on a black motorcycle and went across the street to Mapco. The officer made contact with Wheeler inside of Mapco and asked him if he had any weapons.  Wheeler then placed his hands in his pockets and the officer informed him to remove his hands from his pockets and asked again if he had any weapons on his person and Wheeler replied that he had a knife. After informing Wheeler that he needed to turn around so that the officer could secure the knife for officer safely, he became belligerent and started getting loud. 

Wheeler was asked to go outside so they could talk and was asked for his identification and he started cussing at the officer and becoming more hostile towards him. Wheeler informed the officer that he was going to head butt him and lunged toward the officer at which time the officer restrained him on the hood of his patrol car and Wheeler took his leg and tried to kick the officer approximately three times and did make contact with the officer once. 

 

Wheeler was placed inside the back of the patrol car and once inside he kicked the back passenger-side window out. Wheeler had a conviction of DUI on March 6, 2014, and was ordered to keep an ignition interlock device on his vehicle to have a valid driver's license. The motorcycle that Wheeler was on didn't have an interlock device on it which made his license invalid. His bond was set $12,500 with a court date of Nov. 16.
