City police make arrest on sealed indictment

Smithville City Police have made another arrest on grand jury sealed indictments.
Melissa Poss Petty, 45, was arrested on Aug. 16 on a sealed indictment for sale and delivery of a Schedule II drug.
She will be in court on Sept. 17.
Timothy John Perricone, 43, was arrested for domestic assault on Aug. 26.
According to the warrant, police responded to a possible kidnapping on Highway 56 North, where a passerby had reported seeing a man trying to force a boy into a vehicle.
The police report did not explain the relationship between Perricone and the boy.
He will be in General Sessions Court on Sept. 20.
Benjamin Adam Caldwell 27, was arrested on Aug. 23 for shoplifting and possession of a Schedule II & IV drug for sale and delivery.
He was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the warrants, an officer was dispatched to investigate reports of a shoplifter at a local retail outlet.
Upon arrival at the scene the officer reportedly made contact with the subject of the investigation in the men’s restroom.
The officer said that Caldwell was wearing shoes from the store that he had not paid for.
Caldwell allegedly had two more items belonging to the store concealed on his person.
Police say that he had taken the items without paying for them, removing the packaging.
While searching for other stolen items, Schedule II and VI drugs and paraphernalia were found.
Caldwell is slated for General Sessions Court on Sept. 13.
Callie Lisette Howell, 32, was arrested for burglary & theft on Aug. 24.
According to her arrest warrant, Howell entered a vehicle without the owner’s consent with intent to commit a theft.
Police said the victim was inside the BP Station on Highway 70 when Howell opened the door of the vehicle and began going through the contents, stuffing some of the victim’s belongings under her shirt.
Her date in General Sessions Court is Sept. 13.
Justin Clyde Hale, 25, was arrested on Aug. 26 for burglary and theft.
According to the warrants against him, Hale took a truck without the owner’s consent from the DeKalb County High School parking lot.
Police said Hale entered the truck by opening the truck door and taking the truck with intent to deprive the owner of the vehicle.
The truck was later recovered.
He will appear in General Sessions Court on Sept. 13.
Melissa Gail Andrews, 24, was arrested on Aug. 24 on a charge of theft over $1,000.
Andrews is accused of taking a vehicle without owner’s consent and selling it to a local recycler.
She will also appear in General Sessions Court on Sept. 13.
David Allen Sullivan, 32, was arrested for theft and simple possession of Schedule III drug on Aug. 26.
According to warrants against Sullivan,   an officer responding to reports of a shoplifter at a local retail outlet recovered the stolen property and found a pill bottle with no label on Sullivan.
Police said the pill bottle contained Schedule III and IV drugs.
Crissy M Evans, 38, was cited for shoplifting on Aug. 20.
Police say a Dollar General employee saw Evans putting items in her purse before attempting to leave the store without paying.
Her date in General Sessions Court is Sept. 13.
Sullivan was cited for the Schedule IV drug.
She will be in General Sessions Court on Sept. 20.
Cindy Sherrell, 32, was arrested for public intoxication, possession of a Schedule II drug and possession of drug paraphernalia on Aug. 16.
Police responding to a complaint of a person causing a disturbance at Larry’s Discount Grocery reportedly spoke with Sherrell, who appeared very intoxicated.
She was arrested and transported to the police department where an inventory of her purse revealed Schedule II drugs and drug paraphernalia.
She will appear in General Sessions Court on Sept. 13.
Janice Lynn Johnson 47, was arrested and charged with DUI first offense on Aug. 17.
According to the arrest warrant, the Smithville Police Department received a call reporting that someone had passed out in a vehicle in a service stall at Bumper’s Drive-in.
Upon arrival, the officer allegedly saw Johnson passed out behind the wheel with the key in the ignition of her vehicle.
Police say Johnson admitted to taking muscle relaxers.
Field sobriety tests reportedly could not be completed due to her level of intoxication.
She submitted to a blood test.
Johnson will be in General Sessions Court on Sept. 13.
Jeffery Lee Johnson 45, was cited for simple possession of Schedule V controlled substance on Aug. 18.
According to the citation, Johnson’s vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation and he was seen repeatedly reaching into his pockets for unknown items.
A request to search his person was reportedly granted, and authorities recovered an unmarked pill bottle containing a Schedule V controlled substance.
He will appear in General Session Court on Aug. 29.
Rhonda Michelle King 30, was cited for simple possession of a Schedule III drug, a driver license violation, a registration violation, a financial responsibility violation and leaving scene of an accident on Aug. 21.
King was involved in a hit-and-run at Village Market, and was reportedly followed by a witness until officers made contact.
Police said she gave consent to search her vehicle and purse, where authorities allegedly found a clear baggy containing three pills believed to be Hydrocodone.
Her General Sessions Court date is Sept. 13.
James Fredrick Summers, 34, was arrested for his fourth offense of driving while revoked on Aug. 22.
Police reportedly stopped Summers’ vehicle on West Broad Street for having a taillight out.
His license was found to be revoked for a DUI in Warren County.
According to police, Summers has three prior charges of driving on revoked license.
He will appear in General Sessions  Court on Sept. 12.
