The Veterans Memorial Bridge on College Street across Highway 70 should soon see some badly needed repairs. The structure, closed for nearly a year after a truck driver from the county landfill struck the bridge, is on its way to being repaired, as the Tennessee Department of Transportation has awarded a $222,894.68 contract to Mid-State Construction Company, Inc. of Livingston. The company is scheduled to complete the project by October 31.
