A South Pittsburgh man who tried to hide from authorities inside a closet is facing multiple charges after he fought with deputies when he was captured.

The man, Boyd P. Collins III, 23, is charged with resisting arrest and simple possession of meth. His case will be heard April 5 and he is being held under a $8,500 bond.

According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, deputies went to a location on Adcock Cemetery Road to serve a warrant.

“They found him hiding in a closet,” the sheriff reported, noting the suspect did not want to come peacefully. “While trying to place him into custody, he resisted arrest.”

One deputy suffered minor injuries in the scuffle. While getting charged with resisting, that was not all for the Marion County man as he was hit with possession charges when he admitted he had meth in his pants when he arrived at the jail. A check of his warrants revealed he was wanted for arrest in his home Marion County.
