Tibor Koritsanszky, 59, of Murfreesboro suffered head injuries when his 96 Volvo struck a gate at Edgar Evins State Park Saturday evening. According to Dewaine Jennings of the THP, Koritsanszky was traveling north on Edgar Evins State Park Road, leaving Edgar Evins marina after a kayak trip. He failed to properly negotiate a curve, crossed over the centerline and left the roadway, crashing into a steel gate at the marina entrance. The gate went through his windshield and exited out the driver’s side rear window of the car. Jennings said he gate hit Koritsanszky in the head, causing fractures to his face. He was airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center. Where he was listed in stable condition at last report. The trooper said charges are pending in the incident, and that alcohol was involved in the crash.
