The sheriff’s department has arrested a 43-year-old McMinnville man in connection with a recent burglary and theft.
Anthony Lynn Colwell was charged with aggravated burglary and theft of property over $1,000 on Oct. 1 after he allegedly burglarized a Man Hill Road home on July 8. According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, Colwell broke into the residence and took several pieces of jewelry. The items were reportedly sold to a local jewelry store and a Warren County pawn shop. The case was investigated by a sheriff's department detective.
Colwell’s bond was set at $17,000.
George William Rogers, II, 34, was arrested on Sept. 29 and charged with being a fugitive from justice. Ray said Rogers is wanted in Springfield, Missouri for DUI and being a “persistent offender.”
His bond was set at $50,000.
Nathaniel Dylan Tippens, 22, was charged with theft of property over $500 on Oct. 4.
The sheriff said Tippens stole a white 1997 Ford Aspire from a residence on Redman Road on Sept. 24, took it to a local recycler and attempted to sell it. The attendant reportedly informed Tippens that he could not purchase the vehicle because it had reported stolen.
Tippens reportedly told the attendant to “tell them that you found it.” The case was investigated by a sheriff's department detective.
His bond was set at $5,000.
Casey Joseph Jacobs, 36, was charged with assault on Oct. 5.
Ray said a physical altercation took place between Jacobs, who was an inmate in the jail, and another prisoner. An investigation reportedly determined that Jacobs was the primary aggressor.
His bond was set at $1,500.
Joshua Lynn McCowan, 29, was charged with violation of bond conditions on Sept. 29.
The sheriff said a deputy was called to a Toad Road home, where he found McCowan. He reportedly has an active bond condition, under which he is prohibited from being near a woman at the residence.
His bond was set at $2,500.
Rebecca Jade Andrews, 34, was charged with public intoxication on Oct. 3.
Ray said a deputy found Andrews sitting on the side of the road on Highway 56 North. She had a strong odor of alcohol on her person and her speech was slurred. She was also unsteady on her feet, and was taken into custody for her safety.
Her bond was set at $1,500.
Isidro Gonzalez Ruiz, 29, of Murfreesboro was charged with a second offense of driving under the influence and cited for driving on a revoked license and failure to maintain lane of travel on Oct. 3.
Ray said a deputy saw a black Mustang driven by Ruiz leave its lane of travel and veer into oncoming traffic. When the officer stopped the vehicle and spoke with Ruiz he allegedly detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from the Ford. Ruiz's eyes were reportedly glossy and his speech was slurred, and he performed poorly on field sobriety tasks. A computer check revealed that Ruiz's driver's license were revoked for a DUI in 2006.
His bond was set at $3,000.
