Colwell named DCB branch manager

DeKalb Community Bank has promoted Chad Colwell to branch manager following the transition of DCB’s Gentry Barnes to semi-retired status, officials announced recently.

 

 

 

Colwell, who was previously the assistant manager, has worked in banking for 19 years and at DeKalb Community Bank for more than 13.  His previous banking experience has included roles in lending and branch management.  Colwell is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and the Graduate School of Banking at LSU, and he also completed programs at the Southeastern School of Banking and the Southeastern School of Commercial Lending.  In the community, he is a member of Smithville Rotary Club and a graduate of Leadership DeKalb.

 

 

 

Prior to starting his career in banking, Colwell worked summer jobs at Shiroki and Federal Mogul.  Colwell and his wife, Deana, live in Smithville and have two children, Ian, 9, and Lola, 5.

 

 

 

Colwell’s predecessor, Gentry Barnes, has moved into a part-time lending role at the Smithville office as of February 1.  Barnes began serving as county president and branch manager at DeKalb Community Bank in 2001, and worked in banking for 26 years.
