A Smithville couple have been charged with possession of cocaine and pills for resale after the sheriff’s department executed a search warrant at their Bright Hill Road property last Monday evening.
William Wayne Graham, 31, and 30-year-old Kimberly Jo Donnelly were charged after deputies and detectives allegedly found six bags of what they believe to be cocaine packaged for resale, along with 15 complete Xanax pills, as well as two halved pills and other paraphernalia, inside the home.
Detectives had apparently been working on the case for some time, and finally gathered enough evidence for a search warrant.
“General Sessions Judge Bratten H. Cook II issued a search warrant for us to go in and search Graham's home,” Sheriff Patrick Ray said.
“We executed that search warrant on Monday night, Nov. 7, and found in the home were items such as individually packaged white powder, believed to be cocaine, three used syringes and two sets of digital scales.
“ We also seized a couple of cell phones and pleated sandwich bags,” he continued.
“We seized $587 in cash from Graham, and we found various types of pills."
Both parties were charged with possession of a Schedule II drug for resale for the six baggies of cocaine, which allegedly weighed more than six grams combined.
They were also charged with possession of a Schedule IV drug for resale for the 15-and-two-halves of Xanax tablets.
The Department of Children Services was called to the scene, as there were three small children living in the home.
The children were placed with other family members.
Both bonds are set at $10,000, and the duo will be in court Dec. 1.
According to Ray, more people are likely to be charged in the case.
“The investigation into these drug sales continues and more arrests are forthcoming,” Ray said.
Meanwhile, Walter D. Crawford, 45,  was arrested and charged with theft of property over $500 on Nov. 2.
Crawford was charged in the same incident that led to the arrest of 43-year-old Raymond Earl Tague last week in which several doors and windows were stolen from a property on Bluhmtown Road.
Tague was also charged with theft of property over $500 in the case.
Crawford’s bond is $5,000 and he will be in court Nov. 17.
Scott Lynn Sykes, 38, was arrested Friday after being caught trying to run from a home he had allegedly entered illegally on Big Hurricane Road.
Sykes faces charges of aggravated burglary, vandalism under $500, resisting arrest and evading arrest.
Sykes allegedly broke into the home on Nov. 11 by kicking in the back door, causing less than $500 in damage to the door and getting him a vandalism charge.
The deputy dispatched to the scene reportedly saw a man run from the back door of the home and into the woods.
Sykes apparently attempted to hide in the woods, but when authorities caught up with him they report that he was easily identifiable by fresh paint on his boots, which he had stepped in while fleeing the home.
Deputies say that Sykes refused to be handcuffed when they attempted to place him under arrest, and he had to be taken to the ground and forcibly restrained.
His bond totals $12,500 and he will be in court on November 17.
Joseph Matthew Giles, II, 18, was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor on Nov. 13.
A 14-year-old female allegedly accompanied Giles on a date, and then the two spent the night together at his grandmother's home without parental consent.
Giles’ bond is set at $1,000, and he will be in court Dec. 1.
