Crime Stoppers: Smithville Police are asking for your help in solving a robbery of a Pizza Hut employee on Aug. 30.
Chief Randy Caplinger reported that an employee reported to police that after she had closed the restaurant and was locking the doors at around 11 p.m. that night, someone came up behind her, grabbed the deposit bag she held, hit her, and then fled on foot.
"She was walking away from the building toward her car when she heard someone jump off the concrete wall behind the restaurant," said Chief Caplinger. "When she turned around, the robber grabbed the deposit bag, hit her in the face with his fist, pushed her back, and took off running," he said.
She said the person was wearing blue jeans, a dark long sleeved shirt, and a black mask. The robber got away with an undisclosed amount of cash from the days restaurant proceeds.
Daniel Ray Wilson, 28, was arrested on Nov. 22 for burglary and theft over $500. Wilson alledgedly entered a vehicle at NHC without consent and with intent to commit a theft. Entry was made by breaking the back-side glass out and taking items from the vehicle. His bond was set at $8,500 and he is set to appear in court Nov. 29.
On Nov. 23 Daniel Trey Hamilton, 21, was arrested for domestic assault and cited for simple possession of Schedule II. An officer responded to a domestic call assault in progress on Jacobs Pillar Road and upon arrival observed a male holding another male down, along with several other people standing around yelling.
The men separated and upon speaking to everyone there, it was determined that Daniel Trey Hamilton was the primary aggressor. He had assaulted a female by grabbing her by the hair, pulling her out of the car and hitting her in the side and back several times.
Hamilton stated they were arguing and he threw rocks at her. The officer observed grass and dirt stains on the victim's pants that looked as if she had been drug on the ground. Hamilton was placed under arrest. Upon searching Hamilton, the officer found a small plastic bag containing a white powdery substance believed to be meth in his front left pocket. His bond was set at $3,500 and he is scheduled for court Nov. 29.
Brandy Nicole Turner, 24, was cited for shoplifting on Nov. 24. After an officer responded to WalMart for a shoplifter, it was found that Turner had put items in her purse with the intent of depriving the store of its merchandise. Her court date is Dec. 12.
Treva June Hartman, 48, was cited for shoplifting at Dollar General Store on Nov. 24, having concealed an item inside her purse in an attempt to deprive the store of the merchandise. Her court date is Nov. 29.
On Nov. 24 Caleb I. Rigsby, 27, was arrested for disorderly conduct and failure to stop, frisk, and halt. An officer responded to Pizza Hut to a suspicious male in the parking lot. Upon arrival the officer spoke to a man who stated a male subject had got into his vehicle while his wife was inside and when he saw her he got out and tried to get into another car.
The officer was told the male subject was inside of Pizza Hut and upon going inside he talked with the male subject. The officer asked him his name and he would not respond then stated that he didn't have any ID. At this time, the officer started to cuff him and the Rigsby began to resist, knocking the handcuffs out of the officer's hand. The officer then pulled the taser and the subject backed up and grabbed a family member by the neck to use the person as a shield.
Rigsby surrender and was placed under arrest as his actions placed the public in alarm and in fear of more threatening behavior. His bond was set at $4,000, and he is to appear in court Dec. 20.
