Patrick Cripps, a 12-year veteran of the in the Dekalb County school system, has been named the new principal at DeKalb County High School.Cripps has spent five years as a counselor and seven as assistant principal, all at the high school.He graduated from DCHS in 1991, and from Tennessee Tech in 1995 with a B.S. in psychology.He acquired an M.A. in pre-K-12 school counseling in 1999, and an Ed.S. in instructional leadership in 2004. He is married to Amy Williams Cripps, whom he met and dated in high school, and they have three children: Callie Ryann (12), Zoe Potter (7), and Brody John (1). His parents are Gene and the late Brenda Cripps (who he said was his greatest supporter).He also has one sister, Michelle Burklow, who also works in the school system as a pre-K-6 supervisor of instruction.
