Davidson charged with stealing from employer

A store clerk has been charged with skimming from the till at the place he worked.

The suspect, Robert Wayne Davidson, 23, is charged with three separate counts of theft for various incidents of embezzlement from his employer. He will appear for hearing in General Sessions Court on March 1.

According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, the clerk allegedly took cash in varying amounts from the register of the store on Highway 70 where he worked.

The incidents included taking $327 on Feb. 7; $180 Feb. 9; and $416 on February 11. It was not revealed how Davidson was caught.
