Any Tennessee high school senior who is planning on attending community or technical college, or is undecided on college/technical school choice needs to sign up for the TN Promise Scholarship by Nov. 1, according to DCHS Guidance Counselor Lori Myrick.
"If you miss this deadline, you are not eligible for the TN Promise Scholarship," Myrick said. " Please go to www.TNPromise.gov and apply." Detailed directions are available on the DCHS website at www.dchstigers.com.
If students need counselor assistance or access to the internet in order to apply for TN Promise, they may check with Mrs. Myrick at DCHS. Justin Potter Library will provide computers and quiet space each Thursday from 3-5 p.m. for high school seniors to apply for the Tennessee Promise scholarship, to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the students' college applications. Also during this time, adults can sign up as a TN Promise mentors and community members can find out more information about this initiative.
