Dean loses life in Four Seasons crash

A Smithville man was killed in an apparent one-car accident on Four Seasons Road last weekend. Michael J. Dean, 61, was pronounced dead after being found by a passerby Saturday morning.Though 911 received the call around 11:30 a.m., it is not known exactly when the crash occurred.According to Trooper Jeremy Wilhite of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Dean was traveling south on Four Seasons Road in a 1999 Toyota Rav4 when he left the roadway on the right side and hit a tree stump and a telephone substation box before overturning.The vehicle came to rest on its wheels in tall weeds, obscuring it from sight. Dean, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the SUV. His body was found on the ground at the accident scene.Members of DeKalb EMS, the sheriff's department, and the DeKalb County Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
