DeKalb County officials were presented with the ThreeStar award recently, a reflection on how well the county fares in several key areas of growth.
The ThreeStar program is designed to focus on these areas, identified as critical to ensuring the success of Tennessee communities: Jobs & Economic Development, Fiscal Strength & Efficient Government, Public Safety, Education & Workforce Development, Health & Welfare.
These indicators are used to aid each county in evaluating these key areas and documenting progress toward achieving community goals set by local community leaders and Joint Economic and Community Development Boards.
Since Chamber Director Suzanne Williams was unable to attend the Governor’s Conference on Economic and Community Development to accept the ThreeStar Award on behalf of DeKalb County due to her recent accident, the State of Tennessee Department of ECD Community Development Director, Jody Sliger, made a personal visit to the DeKalb County Courthouse to make the presentation.
