A DeKalb County man was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon when his burgundy Chevy Malibu collided with a tractor-trailer at approximately 1:45 p.m.. Life Force responded and he was conscious upon transport. A female passenger was on the scene but did not appear to suffer serious injury. Emergency crews had to extricate the man from the vehicle as he was pinned inside as the front of the car was under the truck’s trailer. The Chevy was travelling east on highway 70 when it collided with the truck as it was pulling out towards Smithville from Moog Blvd. Smithville Police, Fire, EMS and the Tennessee Highway Patrol all responded to the call.
