Richard Lynn Judkins, 45, of Dowelltown was arrested on June 25 and charged with domestic assault after DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of shots fired.
When deputies arrived, they found Judkins locked in a bathroom while a female had run into the woods.
According to reports, a family member who witnessed the argument tried to retrieve the gun from Judkins and noticed the female had a knife.
No one was injured other than Judkins, who apparently received a skinned mark when the gun allegedly went off accidentally.
Found to be the aggressor in the altercation, Judkins was arrested. His bond was set at $15,000 and he will appear in court June 25.
Wallace “Wally” Rackley, 27, and 23-year old Derrick Byron Fitts, both of Smithville, were arrested June 25 and charged with public intoxication after deputies responded to a call from Maggie’s Landing concerning a fight.
Upon arriving, deputies found both men passed out. When awakened, each had a strong odor of alcohol, was unsteady on their feet and neither could walk to the patrol car without assistance. Each has a bond of $1,000 and both are due to appear in court on Aug. 8.
Amber Nicole Winnett, 20, of Dowelltown was arrested and charged with domestic assault on June 22 after allegedly hitting her boyfriend in the side of the head, causing his ear to bleed during an argument. Her bond was set at $2,500 and she is to appear in court July 26.
Kevin G. Richardson, 37, was arrested on June 21 in Jackson County as a result of a case the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department’s criminal detectives have been working for several months.
Richardson is charged with theft of property over $1,000 for allegedly taking welders, a tiller, electric drills, electric wire and several other items on March 12, 2011. The items belonged to Danny Hale and were taken without his consent, according to sheriff’s reports.
Richardson was taken directly to court after his arrest on June 21.
