James Steven Leduc, 37, of Alexandria was charged with possession of a Schedule IV drug for resale on March 24.
According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, a deputy was dispatched to High Street in Alexandria to investigate a report of a man knocking on doors.
The officer reportedly spotted Leduc walking through the yard of the complainant.
As Leduc approached the patrol car, he allegedly tossed a pill bottle on the ground in the roadway.
Ray said the name on the pill bottle was Vinnie Sue Duke and the medicine name on the bottle was Clopidogrel.
Inside the pill bottle, however, the deputy allegedly found 26 small blue pills believed to be Alprazolam.
The sheriff said Leduc could not produce a prescription for the pills.
The lawman confiscated $64 believed to be proceeds from the illegal sale of the pills from Leduc.
His bond is set at $50,000 and he will appear in court on March 28.
Caleb Andrew Lincoln, 37, was cited for simple possession of a Schedule II drug (methamphetamine) and drug paraphernalia on March 20.
Ray said a deputy found Lincoln, who appeared to be intoxicated, at Mapco Express.
When the officer asked for Lincoln’s drivers license he allegedly could not produce a valid license, only an ID.
He allegedly told the deputy that he had needles and methamphetamine.
Ray said Lincoln had needles and two small plastic baggies containing less than a gram of methamphetamine.
He will appear in court on April 11.
Meanwhile, 51-year-old Gary Wayne Cantrell was cited for simple possession of a Schedule III drug (Loratab) and a Schedule IV drug (Xanax) as well as violation of the financial responsibility law on March 19.
Ray said a deputy pulled Cantrell over for driving erratically on Highway 56 near Silver Point.
According to the sheriff, Cantrell had a blue container with two pills in his pocket, and said he had a prescription for the pills.
The pharmacy Cantrell named was reportedly contacted, and denied that he had a prescription for the two pills there.
Ray said Cantrell later admitted to lying to the officer.
He will appear in court on March 28.
Thomas Gregory Upchurch, 23, of Liberty was charged with domestic assault on March 22.
Ray said Upchurch allegedly assaulted his brother by hitting him in the face and head several times, and assaulted a roommate by hitting him in the head with a rock.
He allegedly knocked out windows of his step-father's vehicle as well.
His bond is set at $2,500 and he will appear in court on March 28.
Angela Quovodas Tubbs, 45, was charged with domestic assault on March 24.
According to Ray, Tubbs assaulted her husband by slapping him across the face, knocking his glasses off.
She allegedly threatened to come to his work place to kill him and his co-workers as well.
Her bond is set at $2,500, and she will appear in court on April 11.
James Garey Graham was charged with driving under the influence and cited for violation of the open container law and failure to maintain his lane of travel on March 23.
Ray said a deputy on routine patrol on New Home Road got behind a vehicle that left its lane of travel several times.
The officer stopped the vehicle and spoke with the Graham who allegedly had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person, and was unsteady on his feet.
Ray said Graham told the deputy that he had been drinking, and an open 16-ounce Bud Lite beer was found in his vehicle, along with two empty beer cans.
Graham reportedly submitted to, but performed poorly on, several field sobriety tasks.
He also submitted to a blood alcohol test.
He will appear in court on April 11.
