The community is invited to a downtown block party, Monday, Aug. 21, to view the solar eclipse - known across the county as the Great American Eclipse - directly across from the Justin Potter Library, one of the events sponsors.In a joint venture, the Smithville Chamber of Commerce, DeKalb County government and the City of Smithville join the library to further sweeten the deal, providing free Moon Pies, solar eclipse glasses, and drinking water while they last.Everyone's invited and you might want to bring a chair to enjoy the festivities.Full story and interesting eclipse facts and viewing tips in the Aug. 9 edition of the Smithville Review.
