DTC board election set for September 21

Four members of the DeKalb Telephone Cooperative (DTC) Board of Directors are up for re-election this year, but only one has a challenger.Incumbent James H. Dillard, Jr. of the Gordonsville Exchange will face Ronnie Burton in the election, to be held Sept. 21 at the DeKalb County Fairgrounds.Burton has qualified by petition to run for the seat, while Dillard was qualified by the nominating committee as a candidate.Unopposed incumbents up for re-election are Roy N. Pugh of the Auburntown Exchange, Jimmy Oakley of the Temperance Hall Exchange and David Parker of the Woodland Exchange.According to DTC's Annual Report mailed to all members last week, the 2013 Annual Meeting of members will be held from noon-4 p.m. Voting will be by machine and members may vote from that until 4 p.m. or until the last person in line at 4 p.m. has voted.Early voting is available Sept. 16-18 at the four DTC Store locations at 111 High Street, Alexandria, 126 JMZ Drive, Gordonsville, 200 Walmart Drive, Smithville and 106 West High Street, Woodbury.Hours for early voting are Sept. 16-18 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
