County Mayor Tim Stribling confers the resolution honoring Eagle Scout Thomas Webb for his achieving of scoutings highest award. He is joined by his mother, Lora and father, Alan. His father is also an Eagle Scout.
Thomas Webb has been honored by the county commission for being second-generation Eagle Scout, following in his father’s footsteps in attaining the most prestigious award in all of scouting.“Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, by the DeKalb County Commission and DeKalb County Mayor that July 23, 2018 is officially named Thomas Webb Day,” County Mayor Tim Stribling read from the resolution by the county court honoring Webb with his own day in light of his accomplishments.For his Eagle Scout project, Webb constructed a 20’ x 30 pavilion which is being used as an outdoor classroom for Northside Elementary School.The construction has a concrete floor, wood frame, and a sheet metal roof. The outdoor classroom provides an alternate learning environment that will engage students while making their learning experiences more exciting and growing their appreciation for the Boy Scouts.His father, Alan Webb joined him before the county commission, standing at his son’s side as he received the honor from the county mayor. Alan Webb is also an Eagle Scout.
