Tomorrow (Nov. 3) is the last day for early voting in DeKalb County.
Wednesday voting will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first floor of the courthouse. Thursday people may vote early from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Before the polls opened Tuesday morning, 3153 DeKalb Countians had voted early. The early voting record in the county is 3217.
“The record should be broken today,” Administrator of Elections Dennis Stanley said Tuesday morning. “We are only 64 votes away.”
A total of 210 voters cast ballots on Monday, 194 in person and 16 by absentee ballot.
“Through Saturday, 2,943 votes had been cast (that number includes absentee ballots) and that’s 274 less than the entire early voting period in 2012,” Stanley said.
On Saturday, 243 votes were cast, including 237 in person and 11 by absentee.
On Friday, 293 people voted, including 287 in person and 6 by absentee.
Election day is Tuesday, November 8 from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. at all precincts in the county.
Stanley also shared some reminders for voters:
•There is a 100-foot campaign free zone around the voting location so voters should not be discussing the candidates while in line.
•You may not use a mobile electronic or communication device for telephone conversations, recording or taking photographs or videos while inside the polling place. Under state law, you may use a mobile electronic or communication device for informational purposes to assist you in making election decisions in the polling place.
•State law requires voters who vote by personal appearance to present a Tennessee or U.S. Government issued photo I.D.
