Early voting tops 3,000

Early voting for yesterday’s election totaled 1,559 in DeKalb County, down from 3,196 in the presidential election two years ago, and 1,989 four years ago.

 

The last day of early voting, Oct. 30, saw the largest single-day turnout with 267 DeKalb Countians casting ballots. A total of 456 people plus 69 property rights voters cast ballots in Smithville city liquor referendums.

 

The DeKalb early vote breakdown in the state house districts are as follows: A total of 1,177 voted in District 40 (Terri Lynn Weaver's district) and 382 voted in district 46 (Mark Pody's district) plus any absentees that may come in later.

 

The total vote totals each day to date are as follows:

 

Oct. 30: 267 votes; 158 in person nine absentees.

 

Oct. 29: 171 votes; 167 in person; four absentees.

 

Oct. 28: 109 votes; 99 in person; 10 absentees.

 

Oct. 27: 122 votes; 116 in person; six absentees.

 

Oct. 25: 63 votes; 58 in person; five absentees.

 

Oct. 24: 91 votes; 89 in person; two absentees.

 

Oct. 23: 131 votes; 122 in person; nine absentees.

 

Oct. 22: 87 votes; 80 in person; seven absentees.

 

Oct. 21–92 votes (all in person).

 

Oct. 20: 101 votes; 98 in person; three absentees.

 

Oct. 18: 62 votes (all in person).

 

Oct. 17: 78 votes; 77 in person; one absentees.

 

Oct. 16: 84 votes; 82 in person; two absentees.

 

Oct. 15: 101 votes; 85 in person; 16 absentees.
