Mark Andrew Cope, 31, an escapee from the Coffee County Jail, was captured Saturday in DeKalb County.Warren County authorities reportedly chased the stolen Chevrolet Cavalier Cope was driving into DeKalb County on Highway 56 after spotting him near McMinnville, and local authorities joined in the pursuit.The THP, DeKalb County Sheriff's Department and Smithville Police Department all helped get the vehicle stopped on Bright Hill Road.Cope reportedly led lawmen from both counties onto South College Street where Smithville police blocked the road.Cope apparently avoided the trap, and turned east onto Dearman Street. The chase then followed Dearman Street across Highway 56 and proceeded to Bright Hill Road, where Cope lost control and left the road, hitting an embankment.Cope reportedly jumped out of the car and attempted to flee on foot, but officers apprehended him before he could get away.No one was injured in the chase.Cope, who walked away from a work detail in Manchester on Thursday, was arrested and turned over to Warren County authorities.
